Why Playa Azul?

Owning a home in paradise is more affordable than you think! Playa Azul is magical…it is a small “neighborhood” and strip of beach tucked in between Jaco beach and Orotina (known as the fruit capitol of Costa Rica). Ticos, as Costa Ricans call themselves, have visited the area for years to enjoy the wildlife and the tranquility of the jungle and beaches. It is unspoiled.

All along the Pacific coast developments have sprung up…and while some are good…much of the innate beauty that is Costa Rica is being lost. The area of Playa Azul is untouched and remains almost as it was 50 years ago…the parrots, the almost extinct scarlet macaws that nest in the almond trees daily, the howler and whitefaced monkeys and so many varieties of fruits that you will never know them all. One of the top birding destinations in all of Costa Rica is nearby. It is not publicized but well known.

There are huge trees in the jungles nearby which have not seen development…and trees and flowers that grow so quickly you think that you are dreaming…and the beaches that are almost completely secluded and untouched. The area is well known for the “black pearl beach” which glows with a deep, rich color.

Playa Azul is magical and pristine…a “hidden village”…Pueblo Escondido. This is the real Costa Rica..and yet it is still less than an hour from the country’s main airport.
